My client for this project is both a talented photographer, and knife enthusiast. The shots were for his online store.

What made this project incredibly interesting is that the knives are Damascus steel. Damascus steel is a type of steel easily recognisable by its wavy patterned design. Aside from its sleek look and beautiful aesthetics, Damascus steel is highly valued as it is hard and flexible while maintaining a sharp edge. So while, most knife photography is focused on making the blade look clean, this project had the added challenge of making sure the blades looked beautiful, as well as showing off the incredible pattern in the steel. The stunning resin and wood handles just added an extra layer of beauty.
