A Farewell to the Dress

In the idyllic setting of the Garden Route, Ally and Sean embarked on a daring post-wedding escapade that would cement their love story in the most extraordinary way. As a photographer, I had the honor of accompanying them on this unforgettable journey, capturing the magic of their "drown the gown" shoot.

Ally, with her radiant smile and Sean, with his unwavering support, were a picture-perfect couple ready to brave the icy waters of the Kaaiman's River. It was a sight to behold as Ally stepped into the crystal-clear river, her wedding dress billowing around her, while Sean stood by her side, a pillar of strength and love.

Trash the dress shoots, as they're commonly known, are more than just a way to bid farewell to the wedding dress. They're an opportunity to create new memories, to celebrate the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. For Ally and Sean, it was a chance to relive the magic of their wedding day in a new and exhilarating way.

As the camera clicked away, capturing every splash and laugh, it was clear that Ally and Sean were in their element. Despite the chilly waters and sharp rocks beneath their feet, their spirits remained undaunted, their laughter echoing through the river valley.

For me, as their photographer, this shoot was a dream come true. I had longed to orchestrate a "drown the gown" shoot for over a decade, and seeing Ally and Sean's joy and enthusiasm made every moment worth it. From planning and preparation to the final click of the camera, it was a journey filled with excitement and anticipation.

As we head into winter in the Garden Route, I may have to wait a while for another opportunity to capture such magic. But after witnessing Ally and Sean's unwavering spirit and enduring love, I know that the wait will be worth it. Thank you, Ally and Sean, for allowing me to be a part of this unforgettable adventure, and for trusting me to preserve these precious memories for a lifetime.
