Dear Courtney & Danie

December brought us to Noordhoek Beach - the same stretch of sand where your story took a turn toward forever. What was supposed to be a big wedding became something even more meaningful: an elopement, just the two of you, on the beach where he proposed. Sometimes the best plans are the ones that change.
It was hot, it was windy, and it was perfect. You spent two hours with me, and honestly? It was an honor. There's something special about elopements - they're entirely about the couple, stripped of everything else, just pure love and intention. That's what your day was.
Courtney, you brought two dresses and both were stunning - the big poofy princess gown that dreams are made of, and then that sleek satin number that moved with the wind like it was made for the beach. Danie, the way you looked at her in both? That's the stuff I live for. You two are gorgeous, yes, but more than that - you had fun. You were so present, so in love, so wonderfully yourselves.
Almost every shot from that session is one I'm proud of, but what I'll remember most is how much joy you brought to those two hours. It wasn't about the big day that didn't happen - it was about this day, the one that did, and it was exactly right.
Wishing you every happiness as you start this new chapter in the USA. May your adventure together be as beautiful as the day you chose each other all over again.
